Russell Haynes is B.J. Haynes' son and Legal Assistant. In addition to his work at the firm on both civil and criminal cases, Russ attends the George Mason University School of Law in Arlington. He is expected to graduate with a J.D. in 2011, and specializing in tax law. After graduation, Russ hopes to work as a trial attorney in the criminal section of the Tax Division of the Department of Justice. At the firm, he works on federal criminal tax cases, including forensic accounting reconstruction, analysis, and document control. Russ is a student member of the American Bar Association and ABA Tax Section, the American Bar Association Committee on Civil and Criminal Tax Penalties, the Virginia State Bar Association and VSB Taxation Section, and the Federalist Society.
Besides work at the firm, Russ is also a talented musician, receiving a Master of Music degree from the Cincinnati Conservatory and a Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Texas at Austin. In addition, Russ is an accomplished golfer, a former assistant pro at both the Hills Country Club and Lakeway Golf Club in Austin, Texas. Now an amateur again, Russ enjoys playing in charity tournaments across the D.C. area.
